Community Guidelines
Crowdteasers: Community Storytelling Platform
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Welcome
Crowdteasers is a place where stories get written together. Every week, readers suggest what should happen next, vote on their favourites, and the winning ideas get woven into the next chapter. These guidelines exist to keep that process fun, fair, and welcoming for everyone taking part.
They work alongside our Terms & Conditions, not instead of them. Where the two overlap, both apply.
Suggesting
When submitting a plot suggestion:
- Keep it your own original idea.
- Stay on-topic: suggestions should move this story forward, not introduce something unrelated.
- One suggestion per round. Make it count, you can't submit a second to replace it once it's in.
- Avoid content that would be hateful or sexualise minors in any way, under any circumstances.
Voting
When voting on suggestions:
- Vote with your own account, once per suggestion. You can change your mind while voting is open.
- Don't create multiple accounts to vote more than once, or ask others to vote in bad faith.
- It's absolutely fine to share your own suggestion and ask friends to check it out and vote if they like it.
Being part of the community
Crowdteasers works because people show up in good faith. That means:
- Being respectful of other readers, even when you disagree about where the story should go.
- Not impersonating anyone else, including the author or other contributors.
- Not attempting to bypass moderation tools, rate limits, or account restrictions.
- Not using bots, scripts, or other automated tools to interact with the platform.
Moderation
Suggestions pass through an author-editable banned-word check before and after submission. These are designed to catch clearly inappropriate content, they're a safety net, not a guarantee, and the author reviews things too.
- The author has final say on any suggestion, including the ability to remove it before voting opens, or veto it at any stage, even after it's won a round. Having said that, it is the intention of the author to let the story evolve as the community sees fit and will work hard to incorporate all winning suggestions into an engaging and entertaining journey.
- Accounts that repeatedly break these guidelines, or seriously break them once, may be suspended or banned.
Moderation decisions won't always come with a lengthy explanation, but they're never made lightly.
Reporting a concern
If you spot something that concerns you, another reader's conduct, a suggestion that shouldn't be there, anything else, let us know at hello@crowdteasers.com.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time as the community grows. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
